Brunch in Adelaide is a morning meal with a deadline: most cafés stop serving by mid-afternoon, and many kitchens close earlier. In the East End, Hey Jupiter has spent more than ten years building its name on champagne breakfasts with a French lean, and Lockwood General, in a 19th-century corner store in Burnside, is known for bottomless brunch.12
Brunch cafés are spread through the suburbs rather than gathered on one street. Goodwood and Wayville, Norwood and Belair Road in the inner south each have a pair, and Exchange on Vardon Avenue brings the style into the East End.
Local tip: If you want eggs at Bocelli on Hutt Street, arrive before 12:00, when the kitchen stops cooking them.7

Japanese and Asian breakfasts have joined eggs on toast. Yuna, in Mile End, serves Japanese breakfast sets, home-style sandos and matcha with salted cheese foam, and Coffee in Common in Hindmarsh pairs its own coffee with Asian-inspired breakfasts in a large warehouse.2 In Glenelg, Gather & Grounds on Waterloo Street makes ube taro hotcakes and Vietnamese iced coffee.3
On Jetty Road, Fourth runs from breakfast to dinner, with hotcakes and seasonal berries in the morning and a Garibaldi, Campari with orange juice, for those who want a drink.3 Exchange, in the East End, cooks produce-driven dishes rather than standard brunch fare, with vegetarian and vegan versions on the menu.4 In Port Adelaide, The Banksia Tree Cafe serves brunch in a historic building, and Seafaring Fools in Glenelg South is known for its Reuben sandwich.2
In Clarence Park, Our Boy Roy at 114 East Avenue combines a café, a deli and a flower shop, with panini and sit-down breakfast and lunch.2 It opens Monday to Saturday 07:00–15:00 and Sunday from 08:00. Sublime Cafe, down the same avenue at 55, opens Tuesday to Sunday, 08:00–14:30.
On Belair Road, Saudade at 119 adds Portuguese custard tarts to brunch, and Caffe Buongiorno at 212 is open daily from 09:00 until midnight. Tweety Bird Cafe, at 300 Anzac Highway, serves Tuesday to Sunday, 08:00–16:00.
In Norwood, the brunch cafés sit off The Parade: Six & Five at 65 Sydenham Road and The RUNHÔUSE at 38 Charles Street, both with outdoor seating. Pickle In The Middle, at 134 Unley Road, serves brunch every day from 06:30 to 15:00.
North-west of the city, Crave Specialty Coffee at 15a Elizabeth Street in Hindmarsh pairs brunch with Wi-Fi and outdoor tables, and The Perfect Blend Coffee Cafe is at 52 Devitt Avenue.
Card surcharges on eftpos, Mastercard and Visa ended on 1 October 2026, but a café can still add a weekend or public holiday surcharge, so a Sunday brunch may cost more than the same plates on a Tuesday.5 Australian law also lets a venue add a set service charge to the bill, as long as you are told beforehand and can decline it.6

Hey Jupiter, in Adelaide's East End, has served French-leaning champagne breakfasts and Bloody Marys for more than a decade. Lockwood General, in a 19th-century corner store in Burnside, is known for bottomless brunch.
Some do. Since 1 October 2026 Adelaide cafés may not add a surcharge for eftpos, Mastercard or Visa payments, but weekend and public holiday surcharges are still allowed. A venue may also add a set service charge if it tells you beforehand and lets you decline it.
Most Adelaide brunch cafés finish by mid-afternoon. Our Boy Roy in Clarence Park serves until 15:00, Sublime Cafe on East Avenue until 14:30, and Pickle In The Middle on Unley Road from 06:30 to 15:00. Bocelli on Hutt Street stops cooking eggs at 12:00.
Free listings are free for good. A featured page gives you photos, a menu and your own URL, in your café's own design, for less than a coffee a day.
