Siem Reap's cafés keep early hours, and about a third close by 18:00. Those that stay open to 22:00 or later are spread thin: Taphul has the most, with The Source, Fresh Fruit Factory and Bugs Cafe, and the rest are split between the Old Market, Wat Bo, Kandal Village and the streets off Sala Kamreuk Road.

Evenings belong to the markets and bars. The Angkor Night Market opens at 17:00, and on Pub Street, Street 8, X Bar opens at 15:00 and stays open until sunrise.12

Local tip: New Leaf and Joe to Go stop serving at 21:30; for a coffee after 22:00, Astro Coffee & Eatery and Bugs Cafe stay open until 23:00.

Taphul and the night market

The Source on Taphul Road serves Italian-style coffee from 07:00 until 22:00 every day, one of the longest runs in town.2 Fresh Fruit Factory at 155 Taphul Street opens 11:00–22:00.

Bugs Cafe keeps evening-only hours, 17:00–23:00, and My Little Cafe, also on Taphul Road, closes at 21:30.

The Noon Night Market sits on a street that runs from Sivatha Boulevard to the Angkor Night Market, and the Made in Cambodia market on Kings Road, next to the Hard Rock Cafe, has live performances at weekends.1

Old Market and The Alley

Gelato Lab in The Alley serves until 22:30, with vegan options and Wi-Fi, and The Blue Pumpkin on Street 2 Thnou stays open 06:00–22:00 on weekdays. Joe to Go on Sivatha Boulevard and New Leaf Book Cafe both close at 21:30. Wikivoyage finds the restaurants of The Alley quieter than those on Pub Street.2

Pub Street took shape in the late 1990s with the bar Angkor What?, which Wikivoyage reports closed in late 2025, and at dusk barbecue stalls set up at the corner of Street 8 and Street 11.2 As of October 2026 a beer in town costs US$1–3, and Pub Street bars often run happy-hour discounts.3

Wat Bo and Sala Kamreuk Road

Wat Bo Road, which Wikivoyage describes as more tranquil and upmarket than the streets around Pub Street, has the late cafés east of the river.2 BioLab Café at 0418 Wat Bo Street and Mr. Coffed at 7 Makara (High School Road) both serve until 22:00. Mr. Coffed opens at 06:30, so it covers both a pre-temple coffee and a late one; The Blue Pumpkin does the same on weekdays, 06:00–22:00.

Krousar Café at 17 Sala Kamreuk Road also closes at 22:00 and has Wi-Fi, outdoor tables and air-conditioning, while Astro Coffee & Eatery runs 07:00–23:00, matching Bugs Cafe as the latest. In Kandal Village, Snow village opens 10:00–22:00, and Art Coffee closes at 21:30.

Getting back after dark

Tuk-tuk fares go up at night and in bad weather, and motodop (motorbike taxi) prices can double, so agree on the price before setting off.2 As of April 2026, a ride of 1–2 km costs about US$1–2 and a cross-town trip about US$2–3.4

The heat is a good reason to move coffee to the evening: in April and May temperatures can peak at 40°C.5
