Yoru kafe (夜カフェ, "night café") is the Japanese term for a café that keeps going after dinner. In Fukuoka the specialty bars set the pace: Manu Coffee's Daimyō and Haruyoshi shops both serve 09:00–24:00 every day.1 In 2018 REC Coffee's first shop, by Yakuin Station, was open until 01:00 from Monday to Thursday and until 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.2
Late cafés follow the nightlife. Daimyō, west of Tenjin, stays busy late with izakaya and clubs.3 It also has the latest café hours: Corduroy Cafe closes at 03:00 and Marbre Blanc at midnight.
Local tip: Check the day before you go late: Momentcoffee closes at 18:00 on Saturdays and all day Sunday, Hiyoribi serves lunch only on Sundays and closes on Mondays, and area coffie takes Tuesdays off.
Where these cafés are: Daimyō (4), Nishijin & Fujisaki (3), Hakata Station (2), Imaizumi & Kego (2), Yakuin & Shirogane (1), Tenjin (1).

Daimyō leads, which fits a district whose izakaya and clubs fill up after the shops close. Corduroy Cafe, on the fourth floor of the 247 Building on Teppōchō-dōri, opens daily 11:00–03:00, and Marbre Blanc's Konya-dōri branch at Daimyō 1-11-29 runs 12:00 to midnight. Momentcoffee pours until 22:00, but only on weekdays.
Imaizumi has two late kitchens: Le Breton, open 11:00–23:00 daily, and Imaizumi Kōji Hiyoribi at 2-4-6, whose evening sitting runs 18:00–23:55 from Tuesday to Saturday. In Tenjin, the Bibliothèque book café in the VIORO basement opens at 11:00 and closes at 23:00, so it serves for lunch as well as a late coffee. Further out, area coffie in Yakuin stays open until 22:00, and Campbell Early (キャンベル·アーリー) in Hakata-eki Chūōgai until 23:00.
For espresso rather than dessert after dark, go to Manu Coffee. Its Daimyō bar is on the ground floor of the Ishii Building at Daimyō 1-1-3, and its Haruyoshi bar on the ground floor of Border Tower at Watanabe-dōri 3-11-2; both close at 24:00, and its Kujira roastery in Shirogane at 19:00.1
REC Coffee's Yakuin Ekimae shop at Shirogane 1-1-26 opened at 08:00 on weekdays and 10:00 at weekends in 2018, and on Sundays and holidays stayed open until 01:00.2
Since 1 April 2026 Fukuoka's subway has run later trains on all three lines from Monday to Saturday, under the name Midnight Train; until then only Friday nights had a late service. The last Airport Line train toward Meinohama now leaves about 35 minutes later than before, the Hakozaki Line's about 30 minutes later and the Nanakuma Line's about 15 minutes later.4
Late coffee and yatai (屋台, street food stalls) overlap. The main clusters are in Tenjin near the post office, in Nakasu, on Nagahama-dōri and along the river from Canal City, and the Nagahama stalls set up every day.5 They open in the early evening, with Hakata vendors starting to prepare around 16:00; most serve ramen, and since many post no menu, ask the price before you order. Some stalls serve yakitori or Italian food instead, and most people treat them as a late stop rather than a full dinner.5
The city picks new stall operators by open recruitment under its yatai ordinance. The sixth round, for April 2027 to March 2030, covers 23 lots in Nakasu, Tenjin and Nagahama.6
