Santa Lucía has the largest group of Wi-Fi cafés in Mérida, within a few blocks of the park: Bengala Kaffeehaus on Calle 60, Sempere on Calle 62, Bendito Café on Calle 55 and White Paper House on Calle 53. Santa Ana and Santiago, Paseo de Montejo and Altabrisa follow.
Working from a café is a recent habit here. In 2025 Yucatán Today described Meridanos and visitors relaxing at all hours in air-conditioned cafés, on armchairs and couches, doing homework or "playing digital nomad".1 Air-conditioning matters: in May, the hottest month, the mean daily maximum is 36.7 °C.2
Local tip: Courtyard seats at Bengala Kaffeehaus have no outlets; charge up first, or take Amadeo Café's work tables on Prolongación Montejo on a weekday.3
Where these cafés are: Santa Lucía (5), Paseo de Montejo (2), Santa Ana & Santiago (2), Altabrisa & Montebello (2), Prolongación Montejo & the north (1), Centro Histórico (1), West Mérida (1).

Around Parque de Santa Lucía
Bengala Kaffeehaus opens daily 07:00–22:00, the longest hours of the Wi-Fi cafés near the park. Its main seating is a courtyard with no outlets, so arrive with a fully charged laptop.3
Sempere, upstairs at Calle 62 #479, was described in 2022 as a warm, quiet place to talk, read or work without disruption.4 It opens Wednesday to Sunday 08:00–20:00 and Monday 09:00–16:00, and closes Tuesday.
White Paper House, at Calle 53 #502N, has air-conditioning, outdoor tables and card payment. Bendito Café, at Calle 55 #461C, keeps office hours: weekdays 08:00–16:30 and Saturday 08:00–14:00.
Paseo de Montejo and Calle 47
At Márago Coffee, Paseo de Montejo 481, the Wi-Fi is good and there are plugs, though on a busy public holiday the Two Tickets Anywhere writers did not feel right taking up a table.3 Weekends can bring a line; weekday off-hours, after the brunch rush, are the time to work there.5
Clandestino, at Paseo de Montejo 468, has Wi-Fi and stays open until 21:00 Monday to Thursday and 23:00 Friday to Sunday. On the Calle 47 corridor, Latte Quatro Sette at No. 465 has decent Wi-Fi but little room, and opens Monday to Friday 08:00–15:00 and Saturday 08:00–13:00.3
North, west and the southern center
Amadeo Café, at Prolongación Paseo de Montejo 306, has Wi-Fi and tables for work and opens Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00; from 16:00 to 17:00 on weekdays its americano and espresso are discounted.6 Origen Tostadores de Café, at Calle 77 #528 south of the Plaza Grande, keeps the same weekday hours and is smoke-free.
In Altabrisa, Pastelicioso Gourmet at Calle 18 #232 pairs Wi-Fi with a brunch menu, and Café Lote Único has outdoor tables. In the west, Manga-Jō Café is at Calle 20 #335A.
Laptop manners and full workdays
Courtyard seats bring heat and, in one 2026 guide's experience, mosquitoes; moving inside means working next to the grinder.5 Not every Wi-Fi café is built for sitting: Café Cafico, near Parque Santa Ana, roasts its own Mexican beans but was takeaway-only, with cash orders at the door, when Half Half Travel visited.5
For a full day of calls, the café isn't always the answer. Two Tickets Anywhere found the fastest Wi-Fi it used in Mérida at Conexion60, a coworking space, rather than in a café.3
