Café Wi-Fi in Cusco is good enough for most remote work and rarely fast. A guide updated in July 2026 called the city's internet decent rather than quick, and said connections in coffee shops and newer apartments usually hold up for video calls. Mobile data is strong in the center, with 4G and 5G.4

The fixed network is changing quickly. In the first quarter of 2025, Cusco had the fastest growth in fiber connections of any Peruvian region, up 127.6% on March 2024, according to the regulator OSIPTEL.1 By the end of 2025 the region's fiber connections had grown another 40.49% over the year, second only to Huánuco.2

Local tip: Ask for la clave del wifi (the Wi-Fi password) when you order, and keep a local data plan for the outages; one cost S/30–50 a month as of 2026.3

Where these cafés are: Centro Histórico (20), San Blas (6), San Pedro & Santa Ana (4), Wanchaq & Avenida de la Cultura (3).

Where the Wi-Fi cafés are

The Centro Histórico has the most Wi-Fi cafés. Panam on Plaza Kusipata 237 opens daily at 06:00 and closes at 18:00. For longer days, D'wasi Cafe at Calle Heladeros 135 and Gabriel 480 at Espaderos 116 run 07:00–23:00, and Organika Cafe and Bakery on Plaza Regocijo 209 runs 07:00–22:00, all daily. Aymura Tea & Coffee at San Bernardo 188 opens Monday to Saturday, 10:30–21:00.

Up the hill in San Blas, Altura Café & Tostadores is at Choqechaka 131, and Bunnu Café at Lucrepata D-1 opens daily 07:00–21:30. Toward San Pedro, Uma Cafe on Cuesta de Santa Ana 515 runs 08:00–20:00 on weekdays and 08:00–16:00 at weekends. In Wanchaq, Agusto's Coffee is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00–22:00.

How fast café connections are

Few guides publish measured café speeds for Cusco. An older nomad guide, from 2021, named Café Panam, The Meeting Place and Cappuccino Café among the cafés with good seating and Wi-Fi for work, but warned that café connections might struggle with large uploads.5 For a long session, run a speed test on the first coffee before you settle in.

Power matters as much as signal on a long day. A guide published in July 2026 noted that Black Llama Coffee, which serves locally roasted single-origin coffee inside a hostel in the historic center, has a communal table and plenty of outlets, and that Cuscoffee, also in the center, has Wi-Fi and an outlet at every table.7

For anything heavier than email, Ayni, Coworking Cusco and Kuska sell desks by the day, week or month.4

What home internet and mobile data cost

As of October 2026, an unlimited broadband plan of 60 Mbps or more cost about S/150 a month in Cusco, and a monthly mobile plan with calls and at least 10 GB of data cost S/30–50, according to Numbeo's crowd-sourced survey.3 Those figures rest on a small number of contributors.

Movistar is the largest fiber provider in the region, with 34.71% of connections at the end of 2025.2 Earlier that year, Telefónica, which runs the Movistar brand, held 43% of Cusco's fiber market.1

When the power goes out

A dead router is often a power cut. Electro Sur Este, the regional utility, announces scheduled maintenance outages that can last up to eight hours. On September 28, 2025, for example, power was cut from 00:00 to 08:30 in parts of San Sebastián and San Jerónimo, including businesses along Avenida de la Cultura.6

Mobile data is the fallback, and the center has both 4G and 5G coverage.4 Check the utility's notices before booking an early call from an apartment in the eastern districts.
