Sitting outside in Doha is a winter habit. From November to March, average daily highs stay below 30 °C, and January, the coolest month, averages 22.6 °C by day and 14.8 °C at night.1 Almost all of the year's roughly 77 mm of rain falls in those same months.1
Most outdoor tables are on The Pearl, around its marinas and canals, with others at Katara, in West Bay and in Al Sadd. In summer, terraces only fill after dark, when the cooler air brings people out to the waterfront.2
Local tip: On Thursday and Friday nights, book ahead for waterfront tables on The Pearl, which fill quickly at weekends.

Porto Arabia's La Croisette is built for open-air life: a 3.5 km pedestrian promenade of shops and restaurants around the marina, styled after the French Riviera.3 Shisha terraces on The Pearl stay busy well into the evening.2 Building the island added 32 km of new coastline, and Qanat Quartier has a second marina with 200 moorings.7
Chocolate coffee lounge has outdoor seating and serves 09:00–00:00, and Al Arrab Cafe & Flowers, on Al Hamra Street, has tables outside and is open 24 hours. In Qanat Quartier, which AFP described as a small-scale, Venice-style neighborhood, Origin Café (أوريجن) has a terrace at No. 104.4
Katara Cultural Village, on reclaimed land between West Bay and The Pearl, has a 1.5 km beach with swimming, pedal boats and kayaks, and its own station on the Red Line.5 Joe's cafe on Katara Street has outdoor seating, and the village's Katara Hills add walking trails and a stream.5 Its marble amphitheater seats up to 5,000 for open-air performances.5
In West Bay, Mondo Cafe by Lavazza at Aleph Doha Residences has outdoor tables and Wi-Fi and opens 07:00–22:00. The district is where the Corniche begins, a 7 km seafront promenade that runs from the Sheraton Grand past Al Bidda Park and the Museum of Islamic Art Park around Doha Bay.6
Al Bidda Park is among the oldest and most visited parks in the city, and the Museum of Islamic Art Park stands on land reclaimed in 2008; dhows leave for bay trips from docks at Al Bidda Park, Al Dafna Park and Sheraton Park.6
In Al Sadd, Nouvo Inizio Art Cafe on Al Kinana Street has outdoor seating, doubles as a bakery and opens at 06:00, early enough for breakfast outside before the day warms up, and stays open until 02:00.
September still averages 39.2 °C and October 35.6 °C, so the terrace season starts in earnest in November.1 April already averages 33.2 °C and May 39.4 °C, and from June to August daily highs stay above 41 °C.1 Humidity is lowest in May and June, around 46–49%, and rises again from July, reaching about 75% in winter.1 In the hot months, outdoor tables make sense only late in the evening.2
