Qatar's specialty coffee reached an international ranking for the first time in February 2026: Flat White and Harvest Coffee were named among The World's 100 Best Coffee Shops, announced at CoffeeFest Madrid.1 Flat White's owners had already opened their own roastery, Honoroast, in 2019.2

Most of Doha's specialty bars are on The Pearl, around Porto Arabia's marina and Murano Palazzo, with others in Msheireb Downtown, in the northern districts of Al Markhiya and Duhail, and in the parks along the Corniche. Expect V60 pour-overs on most menus, and beans from Ethiopia, Colombia, Brazil and Yemen.2

Local tip: Order a V60 of the day's single origin rather than a milk drink; Roastado's café at Murano Palazzo works with beans bought directly from farms in five countries or more.

Where these cafés are: The Pearl (5), Corniche & Al Bidda (2), Al Markhiya, Al Hazm & Duhail (2), Aspire & Al Waab (1), Souq Waqif & Msheireb (1).

Roastado and the Pearl bars

Roastado describes itself as the largest and oldest specialty coffee roastery in Qatar. It buys beans directly from farms in Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia, El Salvador and Colombia, among others, is a member of the Specialty Coffee Association, and supplies cafés and hotels in the capital.3 Its café is at unit 17, Murano Palazzo, on The Pearl, and Profiles by Roastado is in the M7 building in Msheireb Downtown.

On La Croisette, Zawya Speciality Coffee House at No. 6 is known for its iced Yemeni V60.2 Pourover Modern Coffee is in Tower 1 on Porto Arabia Drive, and Bonds Speciality Coffee is at 2 Pier A.

Roasters by the Corniche and in the north

Wings Coffee Roasters (وينج كوفي روستر) has Shop No. 1 in Al Bidda Park, one of the oldest and most visited parks in Doha, set on the Corniche; in 2022 it hosted the FIFA Fan Festival, and dhows leave from its dock for trips around the bay.4 Yirga Specialty Coffee is in the same Corniche and Al Bidda district.

In the north, Earth Roastery and Auburn cafe serve the residential districts around Al Markhiya, Al Hazm and Duhail. Near Aspire Zone, FRAME Speciality Coffee on Al Aziziya Street is air-conditioned and takes cards.

Who drinks it and what it costs

When AFP reported on Doha's new coffee bars in 2018, their customers were almost all Qatari, though Qataris make up only about a tenth of the population, and Qatar was said to be planning its first coffee-roasting plants to cut its reliance on imports.7

Coffee is the expensive drink in Doha. On Numbeo's crowd-sourced figures for October 2026, a regular cappuccino averaged QR21.32, with most prices between QR7 and QR32; a meal at an inexpensive restaurant averaged QR35.5 A cup of cafeteria karak, the city's everyday drink, cost QR1–2 in August 2026.6

V60s, Yemeni beans and signature drinks

Filter coffee carries Doha's specialty menus. FactQatar's May 2026 round-up of the country's specialty cafés lists V60s at almost every one: Colombian with a passion-fruit infusion, Brazilian, Ethiopian, Yemeni and Kenyan, beside cold brew, French press, Turkish coffee and, for non-coffee drinkers, ceremonial matcha.2

Signature drinks are part of the habit too: Flat White's El Majhool, for one, was created in Qatar in the winter of 2016.2
