Cafés that never close, for night shifts, red-eye flights and exam season.

A small number of Da Nang cafés never close. They serve night-shift workers, students in exam season and anyone landing on a late flight with hours to kill before check-in. The airport is only about 3 km from the center, 10 to 15 minutes by car, so a 24-hour café is rarely a long ride away.2

In May 2025 Tiền Phong visited several of them: one near the An Thượng tourist area on Mai Thúc Lân, one in Hải Châu and an air-conditioned one in Liên Chiểu. Their regulars were students, freelancers and night-shift workers, and drinks cost a few tens of thousands of đồng.1

Local tip: Landing after midnight? Cafe Việt Anh on Hải Phòng and cafe sạch on Thái Thị Bôi are both in the central districts about 3 km from the airport, and neither closes.

Where these cafés are: Ngũ Hành Sơn (2), Cẩm Lệ (2), Sơn Trà (2), Thanh Khê (1), Hải Châu (1).

How a 24-hour café works

House rules are stricter than at a daytime café. Smoking, pets and noise are out, booths have no curtains, and staff will step in if a couple gets too affectionate. Some places rent blankets and pillows for guests staying the night, for a few tens of thousands of đồng.1

The owner of a 24-hour café in Hải Châu told Tiền Phong that hygiene is the hard part: guests treat the place as a second home, so it needs many toilets, always stocked and constantly cleaned.1

When they are busiest

The rush hours have moved. Owners told Tiền Phong that their cafés used to fill in the morning and evening, and now peak at midday and late at night.1 The busiest seasons are the end of the year, exam periods and the hot months, when an air-conditioned room is worth more than a bed.1

Where the 24-hour cafés are

In Hải Châu, Cafe Việt Anh at 411 Hải Phòng is open around the clock with Wi-Fi. In Thanh Khê, cafe sạch at 97 Thái Thị Bôi does the same. In Sơn Trà, Coffee Trúc Nguyên at 103 Nguyễn Xuân Khoát, with Wi-Fi, and Son Tra Ocean View Cafe at 95 Ngô Quyền, which has outdoor seats, never close either.

Ngũ Hành Sơn has Andy coffee at 6-7-8 Hoài Thanh and Doll coffee in kiệt 1/151 Nguyễn Văn Thoại, on the edge of the An Thượng lanes.

What a night costs and what to drink

A 2026 national price guide puts cà phê sữa đá at 25,000–45,000₫ in a neighborhood café, which is the right bracket for most 24-hour places.3 If you need to sleep later, bạc xỉu has more milk than coffee.3

For an all-night work session, the connection is unlikely to be the problem: Vietnam's median fixed-broadband download was 307.11 Mbps in July 2026, seventh in the world.4 Cafe Việt Anh, cafe sạch, Coffee Trúc Nguyên and Doll coffee all have Wi-Fi.

If the night ends at dawn, the kiosk cafés on the Bạch Đằng pedestrian street open at 04:00, and the sun comes up over the Hàn, behind the Dragon Bridge, at around 05:00. Hundreds of people turn up for it, most of them young.5
