Wi-Fi is close to universal in Da Nang cafés, and the password is usually on the wall, the menu or a sticker on the table. Ngũ Hành Sơn has the most cafés with Wi-Fi, ahead of Sơn Trà and Hải Châu.

Speed is rarely the bottleneck. Ookla's Speedtest Global Index for July 2026 ranked Vietnam seventh in the world for fixed broadband, with a median download of 307.11 Mbps, and tenth for mobile, at 205.58 Mbps.1 What decides a work session is a socket, air-conditioning and whether the café expects you to stay.

Local tip: Most café sockets take flat or round two-pin plugs, so bring an adapter for a three-pin charger and ask for a table by the wall when you order.

Where these cafés are: Ngũ Hành Sơn (48), Sơn Trà (33), Hải Châu (33), Thanh Khê (7), Cẩm Lệ (5), Liên Chiểu (2).

Sockets, plugs and air-conditioning

Vietnamese sockets are mostly hybrids that take Type A (two flat pins) and Type C (two round pins), on a 230 V, 50 Hz supply. With either of those plugs the connection is not grounded.2 A three-pin laptop charger may need an adapter.

June to August are Da Nang's hottest months, with mean temperatures of 28–30 °C, which is when an air-conditioned room earns its price.3 Becoming Specialty Coffee (74 Thi Sách), Roots Plant-Based Café (27 Trần Bạch Đằng) and Z! Coffee and Roastery (Lê Quang Đạo) are air-conditioned, and all three take cards.

Cafés set up for laptops

Some cafés are built for work. Kin Cafe & Homebakes at 282 Nguyễn Công Trứ (08:00–21:00) is quiet, with indoor seating, parking and space for study and groups. Danasol Eatery Cafe Workspace at 117 Đặng Vũ Hỷ runs 08:00–20:00, Chill Hub (Brunch, Workspace & More) runs 07:00–22:00 and takes cards, and ACE Coworking Space is at 12 Trần Văn Dư.

For a long session in the center, Becoming opens at 08:00 and stays open until 21:00. On the beach side, XLIII Specialty Coffee and Z! both keep 06:30–22:30 with Wi-Fi, and Brewman on Thái Phiên in Hải Châu runs 06:30–22:00. Later at night, Trình cà phê at 25 Phạm Hồng Thái serves until 01:30, and Normad Cafe at 106 Phạm Văn Đồng until midnight.

Working through the night

Da Nang's 24-hour cafés double as all-night offices. In 2025 Tiền Phong found students and freelancers working overnight in them, with peaks at midday and late at night, and in exam season and the hot months.4 House rules typically ban smoking, pets and noise, and some places rent blankets and pillows.4 One Hải Châu owner said the real work is hygiene: guests treat the café like home, so it needs plenty of toilets, always stocked and cleaned.4

24-hour cafés with Wi-Fi include Cafe Việt Anh at 411 Hải Phòng, cafe sạch at 97 Thái Thị Bôi and Doll coffee in kiệt 1/151 Nguyễn Văn Thoại. Coffee Trúc Nguyên at 103 Nguyễn Xuân Khoát in Sơn Trà and ET coffee on Hoàng Đình Ái in Cẩm Lệ also stay open around the clock.

Public Wi-Fi outside cafés

The Bạch Đằng riverside pedestrian street, opened in 2024, has free Wi-Fi stations along its 1.2 km.5 In An Thượng, the 2024–2027 upgrade includes wiring for public Wi-Fi across the whole area.6
