Da Nang's brunch cafés, the ones with eggs, toast, bowls and a flat white alongside the coffee, sit on the beach side of the Hàn, a few more of them in Ngũ Hành Sơn than in Sơn Trà. If you are staying in Hải Châu, plan on crossing the river for a late breakfast.

Most sit in or near An Thượng, the lanes behind My Khe that locals call the Western area and that have become a magnet for international visitors.1 A local guide describes the neighborhood as beachfront hotels with expat apartments a few blocks back, a mix of Vietnamese daily life and an international crowd.2 The brunch menus follow that customer.

Local tip: Mini's Cafe & Breakfast closes at 14:00 and shuts on Mondays. For a late brunch, Roots Plant-Based Café runs until 22:45 every day.

Where these cafés are: Ngũ Hành Sơn (8), Sơn Trà (6).

Puna Coffee on Lê Quang Đạo, a roaster rather than a brunch café, also runs an all-day breakfast menu.3

The local alternative: mì Quảng

Da Nang's signature noodle dish is mì Quảng: wide rice noodles tinted with turmeric in a small amount of concentrated broth, less soupy than phở.4 A bowl usually carries shrimp, pork and quail eggs, with basil, Vietnamese mint, bean sprouts and banana blossom, and is finished with crushed toasted peanuts and a sesame rice cracker.4

Egg coffee with your eggs

Egg coffee is a drink from Hanoi. The story, as told by the founder's son, is that Nguyễn Giảng worked out the recipe in the late 1940s, when milk was scarce, and used egg yolk in its place.5 A 2026 guide dates it to 1946, says Giảng was then a bartender at Hanoi's Metropole hotel, and describes the yolk whisked with sugar and condensed milk.6

A 2026 national price guide puts a cup at 35,000–60,000₫, and coconut coffee, another brunch-menu regular, at 45,000–70,000₫.6
